Abstract

Timber is a forest product with high economic value that has considerably attracted public interest since it can produce various outcomes. On the other hand, mathematics is a powerful tool to help humans make decisions. This study focuses on ascertaining the intercourse between wood processing and mathematics. The writers also aim to understand how wood processing is, how wood drying works, and how much oven capacity the company has. Therefore, the writers interviewed CV. Jawa Timur Baru then conducted a descriptive and qualitative analysis to determine the relations between mathematics and the production of wood-based goods. The interview results concluded that all wood goes through three stages: the somel or woodcutting stage, the kiln dry or wood drying stage, and the moulding process. The time required to go through these three methods is around 26 to 28 days. The capacity of each oven depends on the size and type of wood, but the standard time for this process is 14 days. Into the bargain, CV. Jawa Timur Baru can optimize the company's profits by using the linear programming method. The writers then provide suggestions for the readers to use mathematics to make it easier and impact their work or study.
