Abstract

The application for mathematics is implemented widely in our daily life. Statistics is one of the subdivisions of mathematics. Statistics are used by companies to assess past development outcomes. Therefore, the researchers intended to investigate how the concepts of statistics are utilized in real life. The researchers analysed the sales and profits of UD Cipta Panganesia to see the data spread. This research was aimed to describe the sales and profits obtained by UD Cipta Panganesia in one year and describe the concentration, location, and distribution of the data for cracker sales at UD Cipta Panganesia. The quantitative method was used to gain data with theories of mode, mean, median, and standard deviation. Upon gathering the data, the researchers used three instruments, namely literature review, observation on the location, and an interview with the representative of UD Cipta Panganesia. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the researchers concluded two parts. The first part is that UD Cipta Panganesia sold approximately 640 tons of crackers and gained profit of about 400 million a year. The second conclusion is that UD Cipta Panganesia had relatively stable sales and profit from 2017-2021. Which can be seen from the standard deviation that shows the fluctuation of the data that is relatively small compared to the profit. Keywords: statistics, sales, profits.
