Abstract

Production is the action of manufacturing from components or raw materials. In Indonesia, production plays an important role as it helps Indonesia’s economy itself. However, acts of production in Indonesia have decreased since March 2019. The decrease in production happened as a result of the global pandemic, COVID-19. Most people tend to avoid purchasing unnecessary items that are not essential to survive a pandemic. It is also worth noting that the pandemic has resulted in many cases of unemployment. As such, the COVID-19 pandemic has become the main cause of the decrease in production. To prove the hypothesis above, an Excursion Program was conducted by St. Louis 1 Senior High School in PT Pacific Equinox, a leading producer of laminated tubes in Surabaya. The objective of this observation is to discover the production pattern in PT Pacific Equinox. In order to achieve the objective, direct observations and interviews with the representatives were conducted to obtain the information needed. Upon examining the data obtained, it has been determined that the production of laminated tubes has actually experienced an increase during the pandemic. The increase in production happened due to the community in Indonesia being more cautious as the pandemic goes on. As a result, there have been higher demands for laminated tubes in Indonesia, even in 2022. PT Pacific Equinox's production level has increased in accordance with the rise in demand, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic. In conclusion, this study highlights the production pattern of a factory during a pandemic. Keywords: production, pandemic, laminate tubes
