Abstract

In this globalization era, mathematics is one of the most crucial and pivotal sectors in science implementation. Mathematics is not just used to solve problems in the worksheet, but it can also be adjusted in our daily life. This study aims to see the application and implementation of mathematics in daily life. Other science disciplines, such as Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, and Biology are using mathematical thinking as its base of understanding. Some of them can be observed in PT Caterlindo. In this excursion study, the mathematics team had reviewed how the company applied mathematics in its stainless steel production. Data that had been collected on the excursion study day was used in certain mathematics concepts. Linear programs, statistics, and differentiation are going to be used as the concepts to analyze the factory’s efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. Research results will show the most efficient situation for the factory. PT Caterlindo’s production method seems to be effective, efficient, and productive. However, it’s found that there are some parts that still have room for improvement. This study shows that math is strongly related to the business world.
