Abstract

PT Daewoong Infion is one of the growing companies that concentrates on the biotechnological field. PT Daewoong Infion applies animal tissue culture to produce various kinds of drugs, one of which is Epodion that contains erythropoietin. The aim of this paper is to explain the effect of erythropoietin hormone on the production growth oferythrocytes (red blood cells) in Mus musculus. Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein hormone that stimulates erythropoiesis, defined as the metabolic pathway that produces erythrocytes (red blood cells). Decreased erythropoietin levels could be caused by chronic kidney damage, cancer, or other diseases, which results in anemia. Thus, additional intake of erythropoietin is necessary to treat anemia. Epodion drug validation must be fulfilled by testing and implementing regulations from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (FDSA) and pharmaceutical books from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Drug injection is one of the validation tests that uses Mus musculus as the test object. Before injecting the drug, one of the important things to remember is to know how much drug we could inject into the test object and the injection method. By doing so, the test object will not be harmed in anyways. Therefore, it dictates to have a strong understanding regarding the use of Epodion drug in Mus musculus as well as the proper testing requirements and observation of the test object.
