Abstract

Sasa Inti Company is a trusted and well known food and seasoning company that was established in 1968. As a food and seasoning company, Sasa Inti Company isn’t an exception to the rather significant contribution to industrial waste. This paper is hoped to answer questions, mainly about (1) waste produced by the company and its dangers (2) how the company manages waste, including their system and prevention of errors during the process. This research employed mixed methods in researching this topic, which are: observation, literature study, and interview. Through our research, we have two main points as the conclusion. First, Sasa Inti Company’s waste varies; there are: liquid waste, solid waste, and also toxic and hazardous waste; each category has its own dangers, for example: degrading organisms’ living rate at discharge points. Second, the waste management processes are mainly done by maintaining a certain condition for the microorganisms that could help degrade the organic materials in the waste; and by making some other adjustments, as done in the neutralizing procedure. Sasa Inti Company also employs preventative actions to minimize the errors and unqualified waste outcome. Keywords: industrial waste, waste management, MSG production
