Abstract

In various ways of people’s life, mathematics has a very important role, especially in the manufacturing industry such as in accountancy, expenses and income, employees’ salaries calculation, sales reports, production and distribution of products, maximum numbers of goods that can be stored in the warehouse, the calculation of materials that are needed in building, a new factory, or warehouse, and the relationship between production and demand. These implementations of mathematics were the main topic of the St. Louis 1 High School excursion study. The purpose of this excursion study is to identify the company profile of PT Wings Surya and analyze the application of mathematics in the manufacturing industry, especially in the fields of accounting, HRD, sales and marketing, logistics, production, storage, finance, building engineering, and PPIC. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the excursion study visit was held virtually via Zoom application. On the excursion day, the company presented both their company profile and some materials used to form this excursion study report. From the excursion study, it can be concluded that mathematics is widely used in everyday life to facilitate work, one of which is in the manufacturing industry. Through this excursion study report, the compilers will explain and provide some examples of the application of mathematical calculation in various kinds of departments of the manufacturing industry.
