Abstract
Indonesian casual sex is no longer viewed as out of the ordinary among youth. Casual sex has increasingly become popular among young professionals and university students in Indonesia's large cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali. What is concerning is not the increase itself but the reason behind it. Casual sex is portrayed as free and liberating, but to many, it is a response to their unsatisfied emotional needs and lack of close relationship.
