Abstract

Waste is the residual result of various activities which contain hazardous materials. If said waste continues to be neglected, it may cause harm towards the environment and every organism in the area. Waste is generally divided into two categories: industrial waste and domestic waste. Industrial waste is produced from the process of various industries, while domestic waste refers to waste from household affairs. This report observed the contents of waste products, the aftereffects if the waste products hadn't gone through a treatment process, and the filtration and control system of waste products from PT Caterlindo using qualitative methodology and data collected from our visit. This was done through interviews, sample testing, and the observation of existing data. Through this report, we discovered that the filtration process was divided into three tanks:aerobic, anaerobic, and clarifier. As a means to control the safety of waste products before being sent out to the environment, koi fish were used as an indicator. From this report, it has been concluded that PT Cartelindo’s waste filtration and control process has been done effectively and systematically. Referring to the results of this observation, it is suggested that researchers request more specific quantitative data directly at the place of observation, as well as taking samples of the processed waste to identify existing microorganisms.
