Abstract
Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant and rustless alloy of iron, chromium, nickel, and sometimes molybdenum. Stainless steel is commonly employed to fabricate cutlery, pipes, and kitchen equipment. The application of physics law is necessary to turn stainless steel into useful goods. The present study explored the implementation of physics law at Caterlindo Company, the application of thermodynamic principle in affecting the operation of machines at Caterlindo Company, and the operation of laser machines at Caterlindo Company. With the aim of amassing required data, literature study, interview, and observation were used to assay the data that has been obtained. According to the research, making stainless steel products involved five steps: marking, bending, assembling, finishing, and packing. An analysis of the production machines revealed that a) physics law was implemented by Caterlindo Company to develop stainless steel-based products, b) heat and force, which was directly proportional to pressure, played essential roles in the operation of machines at Caterlindo Company, and c) laser machines at Caterlindo Company were operated using the principle of radiation and theory kinetic of gas with the help of nitrogen. In conclusion, physics law, which included thermodynamic and heat transfer principles, played a huge role in the production and development of stainless steel-based products at Caterlindo Company. In order to obtain even excelling results, it is recommended to conduct future experiments calculating the efficiency of each production machine.
