Abstract

Starfeed PT.Sinar Indochem is one of the newest companies in the Indonesian industry that is qualified for its product. This Factory produces commercial animal feed, especially feed for chicken which becomestheir main product. A good animal feeding plays a vital role in animal health and welfare. This also impacts the production process of safe and quality products of animal origin. The goal of this study is to know the production process of animal feed in order to fulfilled the animal’s nutrients. This study was done by observing all the procedures that took place both in the laboratory and in the factory. While observing all the procedures that took place both in the laboratory and in the factory. While observing, writing down some important informations was helpful to collect the data. The result found found that several steps are needed in order to get the best quality of an animal food. The first one is a nutrition calculation. In this step, the nutrition of each raw materials is calculated. The other one and the most necessary step is coating some enzyme and Crude Palm Oil (CPO) to the pellet. This was done to protect the pellet from an, incredibly high level of heating. Fromthe data above, it highlights the importance of nutrition calculation and coating to get the best quality of an animal food with fulfilled nutrients.
