Abstract

Mathematics is the study of such topics as quantity, structure, space, and change. It also covers the field of numbers, the relationship between numbers, and the operational procedures used in solving problems using numbers. In addition, mathematics also provides high thinking skills for one to analyze problems and logical reasoning. In our daily activities, there are several applications of mathematical concepts that can help to solve various complications. The aim of the excursion study is to prove the application of mathematical principles by grouping plastic measurement data, number of employees, and total assets using statistics, by estimating company’s maximum income in selling 20 and 25 micrometers plastic film using linear programming, and by determining the factors that affect the company’s stock price using correlation and linear regression analysis in PT Trias Sentosa Tbk. This has been done by attending the virtual presentation given by the respective company, participating in the question and answer session, and gathering a number of information from the internet. Evaluating the problems, those three concepts mentioned are found more effective in solving different kinds of industrial complications. Throughtheexistingindustryproblems,thisresearchhighlightsthe importance of the ability to apply mathematical concepts learned in various ways to overcome every problem faced, especially applying linear programming, statistics, and correlation and linear regression analysis.
