Abstract

ABSTRACT The usage of mathematics in modern businesses and their production is becoming more relevant day by day. The need for precise calculations might affect their data and revenue. Therefore, this can determine their reputation among other businesses inside the community and customers. To prove this, an observation was done by attending a virtual presentation with some of the representatives from PT Trias Sentosa, Tbk.. This observation is useful to identify the role of mathematics in the plastic production process in PT Trias Sentosa, Tbk.. The purpose of this event is to identify the formulas and calculations used in production. This activity has been done with a virtual presentation and a question and answer session on February 16, 2021 from the representatives of PT Trias Sentosa, Tbk.. Based on our observations and after countless tries, results show that PT Trias Sentosa, Tbk. has a special formula that serves to calculate and double-check plastic production. In addition, we also found that arithmetic series formulas along with statistical calculations were used in the production process. Therefore, this observation shows the importance of Mathematics, especially the usage of arithmetic series and statistical calculations in the plastic production process of PT Trias Sentosa, Tbk..
