Abstract

Physics plays a crucial role in today's food industry, such as facilitating the production of food additives. This study assessed the stages of making food additives, physics principles applied to the manufacture of food additives, efficiency in the production of food additives. To obtain the data required, researchers did observation, literature review, and interview. In the process of producing food additives, there were five main procedures namely material preparation, material weighing, mixing, filling, and packing. The screw conveyor machine used some physics principles such as heat, gravity, and rotation in its operation. The research results and data concluded that the screw conveyor used in PT Karya Anugerah Jaya to make food additives had an efficiency of 21, 26 %. This study found that the screw conveyor machine operating at PT Karya Anugerah Jaya for food additive production operates quite efficiently and has a fast flow speed. Despite the findings, more observations regarding the machine’s efficiency will be needed for further optimization to pave the way for future research at enhancing food additive production on a larger scale and at the highest quality.
