Abstract

Indonesia's consistent presence among the globe's premier tea producers underscores its profound impact on the international tea landscape. This comprehensive study meticulously dissected the process, effects, and regulations of adding additive substances, with a specific focus on unraveling the chemical reaction rate behind the colloids tea making process. Through a meticulous examination of PT Karya Mas Makmur's tea blending techniques, researchers employed a multifaceted approach, combining direct observation and in-depth interviews with company personnel to extract qualitative insights into their innovative practices. The findings illuminated a pivotal element in PT Karya Mas Makmur's triumph: the strategic infusion of vanilla essence, which elevates both the scent and taste profiles of their signature black tea blends supported by its firm regulations of quality control according to the company's desired ratio of essence and tea. This revelation underscored the paramount importance of precision and deliberation in the tea blending process, as even minor adjustments can yield profound enhancements in the final product. Additionally, the study underscores the imperative for future researchers to analyze the chemical process of the fermentation of tea leaves as it respects the companies' confidentiality, ensuring seamless data acquisition while upholding the highest standards of research integrity. Keywords: black tea, blending, essence
