Abstract

The process of producing honey is commonly known for using manpower because of how delicate the bees should be treated and how careful the harvesting must be done. However, machines also play an important part in the production because they help the entire production to be accurate and efficient. These machines applied some physics concepts, such as fluid statics, Pascal’s Law, and fluid pressure. This study was conducted to determine the application of physics concepts on production of honey in Peternakan Madu Rimba Raya, especially the application of fluid statics on capping machines as the part of production. In order to understand the function and how to utilize these machines, SMAK St. Louis 1 Surabaya held an excursion study to Peternakan Madu Rimba Raya. Literature studies, interviews, and observations are going to be part of the research methodology. This is due to the fact that this research necessarily requires detailed information about honey productions. After gathering all the results of the research, understanding how each machine works and their function on production, writers are able to connect each machine to physics concepts, especially the application of fluid statics on capping machines, the usage of machines in the production sector still can be improved. This improvement will affect efficiency and productivity for both humans and this honey farm. Hence, we believe that the increased use of machines should continue to be supported.
