Abstract

The colloid system is an important part of many industries, including the cosmetic industry. This paper discusses the application of the colloid system in the production of Viva White Hand and Body Lotion at PT. Vitapharm, Surabaya. The production process and composition of Viva White Hand and Body Lotion were observed. The application of the colloid system in the production of lotions is the mixing of water-based and oil-based components to form a liquid emulsion with the help of emulsifiers such as stearic acid, glyceryl stearate, cetyl alcohol, and hydroxypropyl cyclodextrine. The process also uses the Ultra-Turrax® homogenizer with an approximate temperature of 70°C - 80°C to ensure optimal mixing. Therefore, it is evident that the colloid system is applied and is an important part in the manufacturing process of the Viva White Hand and Body Lotion.
