Abstract

Nglinggo Village has a very long history, dating back to the times of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta, precisely during Prince Diponegoro’s time. This village was founded by three of Prince Diponegoro’s soldiers who are looking for a place to set up their guerrilla strategy. Since then, this village has undergone various things that led it to become a tourist attraction. The purpose of this paper is to explain Nglinggo Tourist Village’s history and its impact to today’s situation. The writers interviewed Mr. Teguh Kumoro, Nglinggo Tourist Village’s head, and also researched various writings to deepen the writers’ knowledge about this village’s history. The result from this research is that many of its history is still remembered and even applied to their daily life today. This means their long history has a very big impact on their well-being today, and the people of the village cherish their history very much. As we all know, history plays an important role in our daily lives that through history we can understand what is happening in our world today and how it eventually came to be. History gives us the necessary context to understand the growth of our own people and the events circling around it.
